Five years ago Daniel swapped his electrical tools for paintbrushes, glitter and musical instruments. The reason why? To follow his passion to teach young children.

Daniel is particularly passionate about children’s ideas and how they think the world works. So much so, he centred his Master of Professional Studies in Education research around children’s thinking and how teachers can effectively challenge them to enrich and develop their theories.

Despite working in a busy and playful environment, Daniel always finds the time to sit down with children to challenge their thinking – whether it’s through an in-depth conversation about why skin changes colour when it is scratched, or how to build a tree house.

He refers to their thinking as the “magic of a child’s mind”, and appreciates their thoughts have not yet been influenced by society.
